Astrology, Government Agent’s and Astrology

Ashton Tulloch is posing as an expert astrologer on British Guiana. He is an F.B.I. Special Agent who received his MBA at Howard, speaks several languages, played QB on his college football team and is soon to be a father. Ashton, his fake name for a special operation, scans the conference room. His chosen topic, chosen by the bureau, is Understanding British Guiana’s Astrology. Just then, about 54 miles away, two cameras, a set of speakers and a replay function have just been turned on inside Ashton’s glasses, from an office inside Miami’s F.B.I headquarters. He walks to the podium, which is angled toward the audience at the far right of the stage. Tucks a hefty book and a projector clicker into the podium’s lower shelf, then lays his notes on the slanted top under the wash of the bright LED.

“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen,” Ashton is adjusting the mic, “and thank you for being here.” The special agent lines up his notes, as he bleeds out nervous energy,  then tamps them atop the podium.

“My name is Ashton Tulloch, founder and director of the Miami Astrological Lodge. I want to welcome you to the first day of our three-track seminar conference schedule, vis-à-vis the Astrology of Guyana.”

Ashton is coping patiently with anxiety. If anything dangerous goes down he will be the clearest target along with his seminar participant Ahmad Jones. He spoke to Jones 40 minutes earlier and managed, so he thinks, to convince him that he’s a well-read astrologer. Fortunately for him Jones didn’t ask Ashton anything that an “expert” would know. Anyone of the 68 people sitting at the long tables might be the suspect the bureau is looking for.  Ashton nudges underneath the bridge of his glasses.

“I will focus…for now, or rather our honored guest Mr. Ahmad Jones and I will focus, until half-past ten, on Guyana’s former incarnation as a Colony of British Guiana. We will spotlight 18 May 1953, at 2:00 pm. There are salient astrological connections and portents in it. These connections are related to Dr. Cheddi Jagan, a Dentist of East Indian descent, who became Chief Minister of British Guiana’s first, semi-autonomous government; and Forbes Burnham, a Barrister of African descent, who was the Chairman of the People’s Progressive Party, founded by Dr. Jagan. I will highlight a few things, as quoted from Mr. Jones’ new book, The Astrology of Guyana. Tulloch takes the clicker from the slot inside the podium, turns away from the audience and clicks once. The horoscope of British Guiana appears on a screen at the middle of the stage to his right. He now reads a section from the book.British Guiana Astrology Chart

‘The natal Virgo Ascendant of the House of Assembly says it all, through the domains it rules: arable or agricultural land, the working class, labor, labor strikes, food stuffs, the infamous Labor Relations Bill and unions. Virgo was the astrological focal point for these. The political problems that arose with the fledgling People’s Progressive Party, known popularly as the PPP government were, in part, related to Virgo’s exoteric ruler, Mercury in the 8th House, square Pluto in the 12th, and its disjointed relationship with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction. The world was swayed toward a distorted view of the PPP; hence the saying, World thought transmits into world decision…”[1]

Tulloch was easing into his temporary role.

“The natal Sun, which is the vital symbol of the new PPP government, its life and its leaders, was conjunct two stars: Caput Algol and Alcyone. Caput Algol, in astrology, is considered the embodiment of a malevolent influence. It is associated with death by hanging, wounds to the throat, strangulation, and beheading. But the new government and its leaders were beheaded politically, wounded in the throat, that is to say, their voices and words were wounded, distorted and mangled by the press. The star Alcyone, in astrology, is the largest star in the Pleiades and is known as the weeping star or star of sorrow. Both stars reside in Taurus constellation.”

Tulloch’s delivery was evenly paced and well-modulated from the middle register. He didn’t use up too much time looking at his script but was able to eyeball large swaths of the crowd and still keep relative eye contact on his audience. He smiled was animated. Tulloch’s presentation was about as solid as a news anchor appearing to look right at you, as the teleprompter scrolls up. His role was the thing that would guarantee the appearance of a real astrology conference. If the person of interest was there, he might expose himself before the break, Tulloch thought. But there was still more than an hour to go. He banked on finding and cuffing the guy before he could do any harm.

“Mercury, the PPP’s chart ruler, fell prey under the deleterious character of most of the state’s press coverage, through its square with Pluto and the inconjunct with Saturn-Neptune as mentioned earlier. These contacts showed the potential for political destruction by deliberate manipulation and misinformation, which did bring an abrupt end to the PPP’s term. When, on 9 October of 1953, Dr. Jagan, Forbes Burnham, and the PPP were deposed by the military, and their constitution suspended, the head (s) of state were figuratively cut off and there was much to weep about.

“The natal Sun of British Guiana’s new government, was besieged, that is, held between those two malefic stars (Caput Algol and Alcyone). It took place in the 8th House of jeopardy, menace, danger. The Sun (life principle and vitality of the country) was under duress; and moreover, the Sun/Midheaven, midpoint, standing for the recognition of British Guiana’s national identity, had Mars, planet of violence, at that point, in Gemini, the sign of the press.

Most of the audience reacted with nodding heads and muttered recognition of the book’s quoted references to the displayed chart on the screen in front of them. These visible cues were those energy things coming from the audience that Tulloch needed as assurances that he was playing his part well.

About an hour’s drive from the conference, in another part of Miami, is the FBI Field Office. Bart Phillips, the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the astrology op, is eating his half of a second Twinkie inside the surveillance control room. Early 40’s, white,…
